25th Anniversary Model

E-mail Print PDF

Hey guys this is Lividjoker, I decided after being able to get about five or so minutes near the Anniversary model I decided to give it a quick review. This is my first time doing this sort of thing so pointers would be appreciated. The 25th Anniversary of Rogue Trader, more commonly known as 40k has arrived! And it has brought with it a fantastic Anniversary miniature of the Crimson Fists captain from the first box art. This model will bring many of the older fans of 40k many fond memories of getting their first kits and the like. Many conversations of this model have been done over the years for this iconic figure. The original artwork itself took place (from what I’ve been led to believe) during the Rynn’s world incident.

For many Crimson Fists fans this would make a great model for Captain Cortez of the Fourth Battle Company. That’s not to say that this model won’t appeal to other gamers. If you’re playing with a chapter that uses fist iconography this will make a perfect captain to lead it. This model can also be used to make a Horus Heresy era Imperial Fist captain as it uses a more retro version of the Corvus pattern armour.

The model itself is equipped with a plasma pistol and a power fist with only two visible signs of Fist iconography present, on the model that is as on the larger base the battle standard there is a very large fist symbol. Even if you do not intended to use this model in your armour and don’t feel like removing the icons for fear of damaging it, it would make a wonderful centre piece for photographs and creates a perfect chance to practise out some painting skills on a detailed model.

However this model is finecast. I myself do not mind it but there are others out there who don’t like the price tag attached to it. This model itself is currently on sale for 20GBP/ $33.00 and is in whiles stocks last. Take a look at the pictures and check out the 40k Advanced order page for more details- having been able to get a cheeky look at one I can say that it is a fabulous model with great opportunities for any Fist player or a somebody who has a skilled hand at conversions.

This model is a finely detailed resin cast miniature supplied as seven components (including a fully detailed base piece), and comes with one 25mm round base and one 60mm round base. This miniature is supplied unpainted and requires assembly.
