So recently GW has released a new herald in their chaos daemons line, it is the Herald of Tzeentch on disc, one of the few heralds of the gods that they have released, other then the named characters.

The model it's self is finecast case and looks stunning and full of detail, of course as most daemons the box comes with both with a 40 MM square and round base so you can switch it between fantasy and 40k with enough pinning, but what is interesting is that this finecast model comes in twelve pieces and is relatively easy to assemble.

Ok, so I am working on this Necron board right now, and what is a Necron board without giant green crystal? Nothing, that's right, a giant black primed table of nothing. So I set out to make some crystals. About 20 minutes into the project, I realized that it is not that simple. I did quite a bit of surfing online to try to find a good tutorial, and short of a video of Blue Table Painting making some using a belt sander(which I dont have), it was nigh impossible to find a complete tutorial. So here is my complete tutorial on how to make some awesome crystal terrain for pretty much anything(Necrons, Ice, desert...).

Harlequin Halls held ARMAGEDDON! over the 26th and 27th of April, 2012. A 1500 point Warhammer 40,000 tournament for members of the chapter, sponsored by Red Bull Energy Drinks.

After four rounds of mortal combat, we have our champions!

Best General: Elly (Space Wolves)

Best Painted: (Decided by entrants vote): Elly (Space Wolves) & Ghost (Eldar) tied

Best Sportsman: (Decided by combatants vote): Mark (Blood Angels), Asher (Chaos Marines) and John (Dark Eldar)

All I can say, as the Chapter Master of Harlequin Halls is; Wow! The brothers of our chapter came at this tournament with enthusiasm, positive attitudes and a desire to have a great time. This is perhaps best demonstrated by our three winners of the Best Sportsman category. I was prepared for a single winner - as most would expect. However, by having a ballot from the opponents, it is clear that the members of Harlequin Halls approach gaming from a very positive and reputable manner. I am so proud to be a part of such a bunch of fine brothers who engage in games in such an excellent manner.

The Best General category was hotly contested, with many ups and downs. Elly ended up bringing home the day, narrowly (by 2 points!) over Luke. Needless to say, the talent pool for gaming over the tournament was pretty deep!

Best Painted was also pretty hotly contested, however the voting reflected that the members' preference lay between Elly's gorgeous, snowy Space Wolves and Ghost's inverted, Ulthwe Eldar.

All in all, an amazing event that I enjoyed immensely. I am proud to say, "I am a brother of Harlequin Halls Chapter of 40k Nation".

Obliterating the New GW Paints!

I was very excited to build and paint these Obliterators just In Time to use some of the new GW paints.

So im very Disappointed Blood Angel Shoulder Pads didn't make the release and the Thunderfire Cannon is still crazy priced. But hey at least the 4 people in the world who play crimson fists got some stuff :- D

Let’s talk about alternative models. There is a wide variety of suitable alternative models out there. Today I found out about a new line with an alternative Necron Wraith model. Puppetswar.com has a good selection of alternative models and conversion kits. The Cyber Arthropod Squad is three wraith-like creatures. They would be a great alternative to the GW wraiths. The whip arm could easily be used as the “whipcoil” for wraiths. Puppetwar’s line of models is designed to fit 28mm tabletop wargames scale.

Ok, here are some leaked pictures of the new Necron models coming out on May 5th. These are pages of from the upcoming White Dwarf, and they include a little pricing information as well. The Conptek Spyder is going for 20 pounds, so probably around $30. All in all, I think they look awesome! Especially the Wraiths and the Tomb Stalker. I love the array of legs on the Wraiths, but I do feel as though they could have done without the random orbs.
